When I began making contacts for the research on the Dalmatian cookbook in December of 2005, word spread quickly through the Croatian diaspora. I was interviewed by Jagoda Bush of Voice of America’s Croatian edition, and several news outlets in Croatia jumped on the story. When I arrived in Croatia in April of that year, some of the people I met were already familiar with the project from newspapers and radio broadcasts. A friend of a friend even read about my project in Germany.
