About This Site

DalmatianCooking.com is published by John J. Goddard, an American culinary professional and writer who has lived and worked in Croatia. He is currently based in Portland, Oregon, USA. Also a health and fitness enthusiast, John has championed the Dalmatian style of cooking as “the perfect diet,” and is at work on a Dalmatian cookbook in English. In his experiences and travels throughout Croatia, he fell in love not only with the regional food and wine, but also the sea, landscapes, architecture, language, people and history.
This site will continue to portray the gastronomy and culture of a little-known region of the world through articles, recipes and media. John continues work on the book and hopes to offer a release date soon.
